Why no cookie banner is shown
This website does not use marketing cookies, profiling cookies or Google Analytics. For website analytics I use Umami Analytics in a privacy-friendly, self-hosted configuration. The analysis is used only to understand aggregated usage of my own website and to improve its content, performance and technical reliability.
Umami is used on this website without tracking cookies. There is no cross-site tracking, no data is shared with advertising networks, and the analysis is not intended to create personal profiles. Under Italian cookie rules and the EU ePrivacy framework, strictly necessary cookies and comparable minimized, aggregated analytics do not require prior consent through a cookie banner. Transparent information remains required; this Cookie Policy provides that information.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website can store in the browser or on the user's device. They can be used, for example, to keep a login active, remember a language preference or create usage statistics.
Not only traditional cookies are legally relevant. Similar technologies such as LocalStorage, SessionStorage, pixels, tracking scripts, device identifiers or certain forms of fingerprinting may also fall under rules on access to terminal equipment when they store or read information.
Which technologies does this website use?
This website currently uses the following categories:

Technically necessary cookies
Technically necessary cookies and comparable storage technologies are used only where needed for operation, security or an expressly used website function. This includes security and session functions in the admin area, as well as the short-term storage of the fact that the small cookie notice has already been shown in the current browser session.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, where there is a legitimate interest in secure, functional and user-friendly website operation; additionally, technical necessity under the rules on cookies and similar technologies. Consent is not required for technically necessary cookies.
Website analytics with Umami
I use Umami Analytics for website analytics. Umami is a privacy-friendly alternative to traditional analytics solutions and is self-hosted for this website. This keeps the data under my control and prevents use for advertising networks or cross-site profiling.
Purpose: measuring visitor numbers, pageviews, visited pages and technical usage data in order to improve the website and better detect technical issues.
Configuration: cookie-free, no recognition via third-party cookies, no cross-site tracking, no marketing profiles.
Usage data processed: visited URL, referrer, browser, device type, operating system, approximate location at country or region level, timestamp and pageviews. The IP address is not stored permanently and is processed only to the extent technically necessary to generate or protect anonymized or aggregated statistics.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in privacy-friendly optimization and technical improvement of my own website. Because the analytics are cookie-free, aggregated and not used for marketing or profiling, no cookie banner is used for this purpose.

Objection and browser settings
You can prevent tracking scripts or analytics requests from loading through browser extensions, script blockers or similar technical settings. Some browsers also provide Do Not Track or enhanced privacy features. Availability and effect depend on the browser used.
Since this website does not use consent-requiring marketing or profiling cookies, there is currently no cookie preference center. If the technical setup changes, this page will be updated accordingly.
Third parties
No external analytics third party is used for Umami web analytics, provided Umami is operated as intended in a self-hosted setup. If a cloud service is used in the future instead of the self-hosted version, this Cookie Policy will be updated with the relevant provider, processor role and processing information.
Other services, such as newsletter delivery, hosting or embedded content, are described in the privacy policywhere they are relevant to the processing of personal data. They belong in this Cookie Policy only if they set cookies or comparable storage technologies on the user's device.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
I will update this Cookie Policy if new cookies, analytics events, external media, marketing tools or other comparable technologies are added, or if the applicable legal framework changes.
